The Mortensons' August Letter
August 2026
Dear Family and Friends,
Thank you for your faithful prayers and encouragement. July has flown by and we are thankful for what the Lord has done. We have had busy weeks with a wide variety of ministry activities. The largest outreach opportunity was hosting our 4th surgical team this year at the Rearick Surgical Center. With much work leading up to the team’s arrival, we were thrilled to be able to partner with them to touch lives in our community. This team was comprised of an orthopedic surgeon and a general surgeon along with the supporting medical staff. During the course of the week we were able to provide a procedure to the 500th patient since the surgical center opened on our campus in 2021. It is humbling to think about how the Lord has enabled us to minister to so many people, and we are thankful to be able to make connections with these patients. Medicine truly provides an open door for sharing the gospel with people. Each patient and many family members heard the gospel and we thank God for those that have made decisions to trust Christ as their Savior.
Looking forward to the month of August we are thankful for some slowing to the pace of ministry. Our spring and summer has been so busy that it has hindered our consistency in smaller outreach ministries like our neighborhood Bible club. We are looking forward to consistency through the Saturdays this month and trust that God will use His word as it is taught.
On the family side of our lives, we are thankful to have Grant back with us as he begins his senior year of high school. Over the summer he had the opportunity to live with Cori’s sister and Mykenzie back in Milton, FL and to work for a local landscaping company. This was a growing opportunity for him as a first job, and we are very proud of how hard he worked, many weeks putting in more than 40 hours. We are also very proud of how he is maturing physically, emotionally and spiritually. We feel so blessed with each of the children that God has given us, and are excited to cheer them on as they mature and grow.
