Mortensons: Looking to December
December 2025
Dear Family and Friends,
Thank you for faithfully praying for our family and ministry. Let us be some of the first to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. We trust that you had a wonderful time celebrating Thanksgiving and being reminded of the goodness of God in your lives and ministries. This time of year is always special and full of wonderful reminders of God’s goodness. We too celebrated Thanksgiving with friends and partners in ministry. God continues to show his grace and we are humbled to serve Him.
To recap November just a little, we praise the Lord for the 25 procedures successfully completed, and for the 6 people who made professions of faith as a result of the surgical team. As a church we are now working to follow up with these patients and try and connect them to a local church in their area. Medicine is such a wonderful avenue through which to share the gospel and we are very thankful for the partnership with Medical Missions Outreach.
As we jump into December, we are looking forward to the bustle of the season. Each year we enjoy our personal Christmas traditions as well as special church activities. Something that our family has done every year we have been here in Honduras is to host a couple of the boys from Hope Children’s Home (the other partner ministry of Team Honduras). The children in the care of Hope are not orphans but rather socially at-risk children. Each one has a different story and different factors as to why they have been placed in Hope’s care. That being said, some of them are able to go spend a few days with family over Christmas but sadly others don’t have that option because of the situations that they are from. We enjoy the privilege of being surrogate family for them to “go on visiting” over Christmas. This year we are also excited because Mykenzie will be able to visit from Florida. She purchased her plane tickets just the other day and will be flying in on Christmas day.
Thank you again for your faithful prayers for our family. May the Lord bless you and your family this Christmas season as you celebrate the birth of our Savior.
