May's Prayer Letter from the Mortensons

May 2025

Dear Family and Friends,

Thank you for your faithful prayers for our family. God has shown Himself good in our lives and we want to praise Him with you. To start off the month of April we had a great week partnering with MMO’s surgical team. They were able to perform 32 surgeries and we praise the Lord for each patient and family with whom we were able to share the Gospel.  We pray that the Lord will bring forth fruit in His time, and we look for opportunities to continue to witness to these patients during their recovery.

We also praise the Lord for well attended Easter services as we celebrated our risen and coming again Savior. Also, as part of our Easter Sunday service, 13 people followed the Lord in believers’ baptism! It is always exciting to see visible responses to what God is doing in people’s hearts.

April did also have its difficulties, but God’s goodness and help was evident through it all. Starting first with Savanna, but then Blake and Mykenzie, we had an outbreak of chickenpox. Thankfully they are all clearing up nicely. But specifically for Blake (who got the worst of it in terms of spots covering his body) we learned some new things about the complications that type 1 diabetes brings to any sickness. We are thankful for the host of medical friends who were available to us to answer questions and give guidance. Again, God is good.

May will be a full month of ministry, but the biggest event for our family is that Mykenzie is graduating high school! We are so proud of how she is growing and maturing; physically, mentally and spiritually, and are excited about what the Lord will do with her life. That being said, she is unsure of long-term next steps (like what to study in college) and so plans on a gap year at least. As she seeks direction she is going to start by doing a paid internship at Hope Children’s Home (here on the church property). The internship will last into early fall most likely (with an option to continue longer) after which she plans to move back to FL where she will work and attend our sending church. Please be praying with us for her as she moves into this new stage of life.

PRAISES AND PRAYER REQUESTS
  • Praise the Lord, we had well attended Easter services to celebrate our risen and coming again Savior.
  • Praise the Lord also for the 32 lives impacted because of the MMO surgical team, and pray for God to continue to work in hearts that heard the Gospel.
  • Praise the Lord with us that Mykenzie will graduate high school this month and pray for guidance for her future.
  • Thank you for continuing to pray for the Lord’s blessing as we grow in our understanding of Type 1 Diabetes.

Thank you again for your faithful prayers,
Nate and Cori with Mykenzie, Grant, Blake and Savanna.
