The Valbuenas for December 2024
December 2024
The Lord has truly given us so much to be thankful for. I love this time of year where everyone is posting their thanksgiving praises on social media, and we have thanksgiving services. The feeling of gratitude just pours over into December, and we continue to praise and honor the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. We of course know that Jesus was not born in December but anytime is a good time to honor his birth! As the song goes, “It’s the most wonderful time of the year!”
I pray that you are well, and know that you are truly a blessing to us and our Subic Bay Children’s Home family, not only to our SBCHome family, but to our family (Valbuena Family) as well and all our other ministries that you continue to pray for and support. May God bless you abundantly and reward you fourfold for all that you do for the ministry here in the Philippines.
Our Project Dorcas Ministry was able to be a blessing to the registered single mothers of Olongapo City. We were able to hold a workshop for these mothers, teaching them how to make scented candles and dishwashing detergent. Each mother received a starter kit with all they will need to put up a home business. Most importantly we shared the gospel with these precious souls and how the Lord Jesus Christ desires to have a relationship with them if only they would accept him. I truly appreciate those of you who send extra support in for our Proiect Dorcas ministry. This ministry not only feeds children in our seven bible centers every Saturday but has relief and rescue operations during calamities, and many other benevolent projects as we spread the love of our Lord.
What a blessed week of youth camp with over 150 campers! The Lord was in the midst and working in the hearts of the young people. Each message was delivered in humbleness, and we praise God for the availability and dedication of our speakers and volunteers. The Lord worked through the lives of each volunteer to be the hands and feet of our Lord Jesus Christ. We praise God especially for the church and individual who financially sponsored this year’s camp.
Ruel and Hannah, our son-in-law and daughter, did an awesome job at directing this year’s camp even while having two sick kids at home. God blessed the dedication and availability of everyone involved in making this year’s camp a success. We saw many souls saved, and young people rededicate their lives to Jesus Christ. The last rally night the altars were overflowing and there were only a few left in their seats! Adults and teens alike filled the altar pouring their hearts out to God! To God be all the glory, honor and praise!
As Joshua stated in Joshua 24:15, “… as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” This has been a theme in our household. We have 3 adults now out of the house; we are truly blessed that they have continued serving the Lord. Ruel and Hannah run the daily operations of the children’s home and a mission church in the neighboring province of Pampanga. Timothy and his wife, Bianca, are directors of the AMAGOH sports ministry, and handle all the media of the various ministries; Bianca plays piano during all services and teaches music and choir. Rod and his wife are faithful members of a thriving church in the US. Our two youngest, Samuel and Elizabeth, look forward to opportunities to serve in any way they can. Please continue to pray for our family and that we may continue to be faithful and speak up for our Lord Jesus Christ
What a “Comfort and Joy” the Lord has truly been to us throughout this entire year of 2024. Though there were disappointments, the Lord was always there, never leaving us nor forsaking us! I thank God for providing you to be a constant and faithful supporter as we work here in the ministry in the Philippines. May God’s comfort and joy continue to be with you through these last few days of 2024 and as we enter the new year of 2025.
