Subic Bay Children's Home - Nov. 2024
Dear Friends and Supporters,
We are thrilled to bring you the latest edition of our newsletter, where we share the heartwarming stories, inspiring achievements, and ongoing needs of the children at our children’s home. Every day we celebrate the growth, learning, and resilience of the children who call this place home.
We have had such a busy week! As I write this update, our cook is grilling some chicken for our Family Friday night and the kids are decking the halls! We always look forward for Family Friday Nights! It is always a special time where we can hang out as a family and reconnect with each other after our busy week.
Having a substantial family, shopping for Thanksgiving means cardio for me and my mom, Ms. Annalisa Valbuena. We started shopping for our thanksgiving dinner this week and it has been a trip! Thanksgiving is always exciting but a lot of work for our children’s home family as we cook and prepare for almost 80 people that day. We like to celebrate how Americans do it; a lot of good food and we never forget the turkey! I would like to take this time and express our gratitude to you. Your faithfulness in supporting allows us to enjoy moments like this.
This week also consisted with a lot of planning for the youth camp. It is so encouraging to see the young people in our home get so excited for the camp- meeting new friends, fellowshipping in Godly company, and getting their hearts ready for the messages. In light to this, I would like for you to meet our eldest boy, Paul Tedious. We took him in at 4 years old. He was always lethargic and had a hard time focusing. He is now 17 years old and has improved socially, academically, and physically. As he grew older, he found interest in music. He is now one of the most active young people in church. He plays a big role in one of Subic Bay Baptist church mission - SAUG BAPTIST MISSION as a guitarist and he is also involved in visitation and soul winning alongside Missionary Ruel Villamiel. Aside from that, he is involved in our Saturday Bible Clubs and feeding ministry. He is also enrolled as a dual enrollment student at Subic Bay Baptist institute in his first year. He is also eager to learn carpentry as he accompanies our carpenter after school. He has been enthusiastically helping out with the preparations of our upcoming youth camp. We are so proud of the man he is becoming. These kids are given all these opportunity because of your sacrifices and obedience to God.
As this week ends, we would like to reflect on the goodness of Jesus Christ. We look forward for more weeks like this for the rest of the year and we hope that you do too. We are so blessed to have what we have only by the grace of God. We are grateful for your continued support in our mission to provide love, safety, and opportunity to these children in need. Together, we are making a lasting difference in their lives through Jesus Christ!
Thank you for being part of our family!
