Matthew 4:18-20
And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.

These were the first disciples of Christ. A disciple is a follower being taught or trained for a mission. Jesus told these guys they were to follow him to be fishers of men. So they were to be in training right then to reach others later with the gospel after Jesus ascended back to heaven – to catch men if you will. The mission is still in full swing in our day. If there are still people on earth lost in their sins and without Jesus Christ as their Savior and headed for hell, then we still need to be training disciples and sending them out to be fishers of men. I don't say that as a question, but as a fact. There is no shortage of fishing holes but there is a shortage of fishers. It doesn't matter if we use a cane pole or a net, but it does matter if we fish for men – their souls!!!

We started December by receiving 800 plus Christmas shoe box presents from missionary A J James @ Emission Air out of North Carolina. We would spend the next two weeks dividing them up and taking them to eleven different communities for distribution. Our area was hit really hard with four hurricanes in fourteen months and these gifts went a long way with the people who have been struggling and needing encouragement. We had a few in our church help getting the presents out and over five hundred gospel tracts and several hundred Bibles. There were many opportunities to have prayer and present the gospel; just another way to fish for men and share the love of Christ as his hands and feet.

We saw some good progress on the church construction projects that we are involved with. Victory Springs Independent Baptist got the membrane roof on the drive through entrance all done and had metal studs delivered for the interior framing. More funds came in and the sub-contractor has been hired to begin framing this coming week. Vision Baptist did receive their building permit, and preparations are being made for the site work and roadway entrance work. The foundation sub-contractor and others are being selected, and that work will begin in the next few weeks. Victory Baptist in Perry, FL is in the permitting stage, and we hope to get that permit soon to begin their parsonage barndominium. Our house is a standstill waiting on delivery and installation of our metal shell. We did purchase the windows and doors and some lumber to be able to do those ourselves after the shell goes up.

We got to help Operation Renewed Hope a little bit more after all the disaster relief from the hurricanes. We were asked to find some folks who really needed a little financial help and were able to hand deliver checks to two more families in the Horseshoe Beach area. The looks on their faces and the gratitude they had for the extra help is such an encouragement. These gifts were not a "hand out" but instead, a "hand up."

We have not mentioned our Training Center International much lately; really because we have been so busy with other things it had taken a back seat for the last few months. We have been promoting it a little more and have signed up three new students and talking to several more, too. All are either missionaries already, or their grown children who are planning to become missionaries following in their parents’ footsteps. It is our pleasure to play a small part in getting necessary practical skills training to those who have said they will follow Jesus and be fishers of men.

Thank you each and every one for your part in these efforts to see folks helped, saved, trained, sent, and spent for the souls of men and the Glory of God!!!

In Christ,
