1 Thessalonians 5:18
In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Our giving of thanks is a command not a suggestion. Do it, and the circumstance or situation is not a factor. Give thanks. Do it. It is God’s will, or, we might say, something He desires of us. In the good, the bad, the ugly, and the pleasant, we can and should give thanks.

We give God thanks for putting us in the ministry. We get to serve Him and his people.  We don’t have to, it’s our pleasure and reasonable service and we love it. It has been a little over eight years since we surrendered to go all in and full time and many of you have traveled this journey with us. We give you thanks, too. Your prayers and giving provide us with power and provision to do what God directs as he lights our path.

We give thanks for traveling mercies. This month we traveled for a funeral, a wedding, a development opportunity for a camp ministry, multiple trips to Perry, FL for the project there, and two different all-day trips looking at cars for Bethany. We did find her a decent car, so she has her own wheels for the camp work she is doing this coming summer.

The project at Victory Springs Ind Baptist is coming along nicely. This month the interior walls all got three coats of paint. The ceiling grid system and a good bit of the ceiling tile got installed. A lot of the light fixtures and fire alarm parts have been installed. The fire sprinkler piping is complete, and the heads have been adjusted. We have had many inspections of the progress. The electrical underground was run, and the transformer and meter can are installed and energized. We hope to get power turned on this coming week and start testing everything. Flooring and trim work and doors have been figured and ordered and will be delivered soon. It will all come together in the next weeks.

Victory Baptist, the project in Perry, FL, made some more progress. Victory Baptist, Valdosta, GA sent 12 men to help hang the drywall. We got over 75% hung in one day. We will work at getting the rest hung while juggling other things. We are looking for drywall finishers to help with the mudding next. All of these projects give us an open door to witness and share the gospel with the workers and suppliers we come in contact with.

Kevin traveled to Rockmart, GA to look at land that could work for development of a camp ministry. The land is close to the churches and workers and if it all works out would be huge for these folks and the training they do with young people. Paperwork has been filled out for rezoning and special use permits and meetings are scheduled for the local officials and town’s people to vote whether to accept a camp to come and settle in there.

We have also been busy with preparation for training coming up in a few weeks for camps. We bought new curriculum and are learning it and streamlining it to fit the timeframes given to us for groups of young people. We are scheduled for Who Will Go and Beyond Borders camps for two, or so, weeks coming up. We are really looking forward to gospel and training opportunities with the young people.

Again, we give thanks for your help in these different areas as we strive to serve God and man in multiple ways and locations. Please continue to pray with us that souls would be saved and lives would be changed and young people would go all in for God.

In Christ,
Kevin, Sonya, Bethany, and Jon McCoy
