Proverbs 27:17
Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.

We are just tools in God's toolbox. Every tool has a purpose and intended task. Many times a tool could be used for many different things and be effective but only when the tool is in working order and good condition or sharp, if you will, can it be used to its potential. We all need to be in the place to be of use in our Lord's work. The more tools available the more things that can be done and God gets the glory for the work that ultimately is His. I can only do so much but with others, all working together, that effort can multiply and reach farther.

We were just missed by Hurricane Debby. The storm made impact about an hour west of us. We got ourselves ready as the storm approached and began reaching out to pastors and churches in the proposed impact zone. The winds were not as bad as first thought and structural damage and trees down were minimal in comparison to previous hurricanes. Churches did not get enough damage to warrant a response but 20 plus inches of rain did flood areas not usually affected. We were able to help one of our church families for a few days until the waters went down. Our church did raise funds to help with relief efforts in Jamaica from Hurricane Beryl. We were able to be the hands and feet with the wire transfers and coordinating those efforts with the churches.

We began the permit paperwork for our shed/house and met subcontractors, surveyors, got our address finalized, and had the land partially cleared and the driveway installed. We received all of our final drawings and can now ask the bank for our next construction draw for the foundation and shell structure. We plan to hire out a lot of the big work to get it done quickly and not take too much of our time away from other obligations. The stucco work has been completed at Victory Springs Independent Baptist and we installed some temporary roofing as we raise the funds for the permanent roof and flashings. We traveled to Clearwater, FL to pick up the doors and frames and hardware for Grace Bible Baptist and then delivered them to the church in Pensacola a couple of weeks later. The missionary builders have made a lot of progress there and most of the framing and electrical and plumbing work is in place. We plan to go back and install the doors and frames as we get a few days. While in Pensacola we saw our parents and kids and grandkids real quick and looked at some damage on Mom's house. We will have to go back soon and help make some repairs. Vision Baptist does not have completed drawings yet for their permit so we keep in contact and do what we can here and there while we wait on architects and engineers. Ocoee Baptist contacted us and has decided to not do a complete remodel but only what is necessary to keep growing. The city government wants the entire property brought up to today’s code and the money required is crazy expensive. We renewed the curriculum contract with Home Builders Institute and Training Center of Costa Rica can continue to exist. There have been some setbacks and delays and things move slower than we would like but slow is still go and we are thankful we can still play a small part in the gospel work there. There continues to be pastors and missionaries as students learning skills and trades to help them as they minister.

We traveled to Indiana on Friday to see some of our family we haven't seen since last September. While close by, Kevin will spend five days in Indianapolis at the Who Will Go school of evangelism – iron sharpening iron. Several evangelists and missionaries use this training to help and equip and encourage others in the ministry. There will be classroom training in the mornings, then boots on the ground evangelism in the neighborhoods in the afternoons, and then tent meeting preaching at night. We see this training as vital and a type of continuing education that we need to get sharp and have our boldness increased. Please pray for the gospel to go forth and many to be saved in these next days. Thank you all for your continued prayers and support. We are grateful and stand in amazement of all the Lord continues to do.

In Christ,
