July Notes from the Mortensons

July 2026

Dear Family and Friends,

Wow, the summer days are flying by! Thank you so much for your partnership both prayerfully and financially. June was a whirlwind of ministry opportunities, and we want to praise the Lord for all that has been happening. As mentioned in the June update, we kicked off the month with our annual youth conference. Each night was well attended and there was a great spirit and listening hearts among the almost 200 teenagers each night. God used Pastor Gourley’s messages to speak to hearts and we have heard good testimonies from many who made growth decisions in their walks with the Lord!

Next, while I was hosting and serving with MMO’s 3rd surgical team at the Rearick Surgical Center on our church ministry campus, Cori and the kids (along with other volunteers from our church) drove about an hour and 15 minutes to assist a sister ministry who was hosting another MMO team for a general clinic. Ministering through medicine on the translation side is very rewarding and mentally tiring at the same time. But we praise the Lord for the energy, clarity and understanding that He gave, and for the many people who not only received physical help but also heard the wonderful news of God’s love displayed through the Gospel. We know that through each activity, the seed of the Word of God was spread far and wide.

Finishing it all out, we helped host a church missions team from KY, who were able to assist Pastor Alex (the Honduran pastor sent out of our church) with a construction project at his church in Santa Barbara, Honduras. The group worked diligently in the hot sun, mixing concrete to pour a new floor for the church auditorium. Here in July, Pastor Alex will continue by laying the tile floor and he was so thankful for the many hands that helped advance the project. Sunday, we all worshiped together and I translated for the guest preacher. It is encouraging to see how God continues to grow other local churches in Honduras.

PRAYER REQUESTS
  • Praise the Lord for the growth decisions made by many teens at our youth conference,
  • Please pray for Medical Missions Outreach and the opportunities they enable for gospel ministry. Our next surgical team arrives July 19th.
  • Please continue to pray for God’s blessings on Mykenzie as she makes independent steps as an adult back in Florida.
  • Thank you for continuing to pray for the Lord’s blessings as we grow in our understanding of Type 1 Diabetes.

Thank you again for your faithful prayers.

In Christ,
Nate and Cori with Mykenzie, Grant, Blake and Savanna
