The Mortensons' Newest Prayer Letter

October 2025

Dear Family and Friends,

Thank you for your faithful prayers for our family. September has flown by and was very busy with traveling to the States. We are glad to be back in Honduras now, even though that means that we are one child down. It is amazing to think how quickly Mykenzie went from a baby to an 18 year old young woman. We are so proud of her and of how she is growing and maturing. We are also excited to see what the Lord will do with her life as she desires to live for Him. For right now, He has provided both family and friends from our home church to help her not feel so alone with us back in Honduras. And she is excited about new, independent living experiences; like having a car, a new job environment, and getting involved serving in the ministries of West Florida Baptist Church. Please continue to pray for her in this new stage of life, to put the Lord first and trust Him with her future.

I mentioned in our last prayer update that we are preparing for 2 more surgical teams for this fall. Thank you for joining us in prayer for a second surgeon for the October team. God has provided a general surgeon to complete the team, and we are just two weeks away from their arrival. Patients have already come in to open initial patient files and will be coming back in for health-history and physical exams prior to the team’s arrival. Pray, that as we prepare for this week of medical ministry, God would prepare our hearts to serve and that He would prepare the hearts of the patients to receive the message of salvation in Jesus Christ. Pray for the team; that God would give them wisdom as they perform surgeries, that all of the patients would make full recoveries, and that they would experience relief from the medical problems they have been battling.

Also, praise the Lord with us as God continues to work here in the life of the church. With all the busyness of the summer months, I did not have time to share how God has been working in the weekly ministries. We have have been experiencing full services every Sunday and regularly having first time visitors in church. Several new people have made professions of faith and 6 more people followed the Lord in believer’s baptism at the end of August! God is good and growing His church, to Him be the Glory! Thank you again for your faithful partnership and prayers.
