The Mortensons: Happy Easter & April Notes

April 2026

Dear Family and Friends,

Happy Easter to all of you! We serve a risen Savior and Easter is a wonderful time to be reminded of just how much He loves us. We anticipate a full church for our Resurrection Sunday service, and hope that your church is full as well. Thank you all for faithfully praying for our family and ministry. God is good!

March came and went with constant activity. We are thankful for God’s grace and work in and through us. We kicked off the month with the MMO surgical team. The team performed both general and orthopedic surgeries. As we ministered together with them, we were able to share the Gospel with about 50 people (patients and family members). As often happens with these teams, some of the patients do not live in our city but within an hour or so. This team was no exception, and we have been working to try and connect many of these people with good local churches for continued spiritual follow-up. We are always thankful for the Lord bringing them to us and opening the door for us to plant the seeds of the Gospel. The next surgical team is already rapidly approaching. They will arrival on April 12th and will do both gynecological and general surgeries. Please join us in praying for God’s blessing as we minister together.

Also coming up in April, we as a church will be having our annual Missions Conference. This year we will have a special emphasis on restricted access nations partially because we have a Honduran couple who just started deputation. This couple is preparing to ministry in a northern African restricted access nation. As Hondurans, there are some unique open doors that Americans don’t have which will help this couple eventually gain residency in this county and minister where there is little gospel witness. We are excited to partner with them and see God’s heart for all people.

Finally, at the end of April, we will be taking a quick trip to the States where we will visit family and will be giving a report in a couple of supporting churches.  Please pray for safety as we travel and that we would be a blessing as we are visiting churches.

PRAYER REQUESTS
  • Please be praying for the upcoming surgical team as we minister together. Praying for successful surgeries and receptive hearts to the Gospel.
  • Please pray for our mission’s conference, that God would increase our faith and ability to support more missionaries.
  • Please continue to pray for God’s blessing on Mykenzie as she makes independent steps as an adult back in Florida.
  • Thank you for continuing to pray for the Lord’s blessing as we grow in our understanding of Type 1 Diabetes.

From Honduras,
Nate and Cori with Mykenzie, Grant, Blake and Savanna
