Early Christians were called the people of ‘the way’ even before they were called Christians, and Christian teaching began with the great Teacher himself. This seems to indicate that the name, “the way” had certain teachings that identified them as such (Acts 9:2; 16:17; 19:9, 23; 22:4; 24:14, 22). As the people of “the Way of salvation,” let’s stay the course.
Thank you all for continuous prayers. With the labors of traveling and presenting our ministry in 2018, we thank God for the continuous encouraging responses from the churches and individuals interested with our ministry in Kenya. Our Financial support is closing up and we desire that you be part of what the Lord is doing in Kenya.
Whatever the Lord has laid in your heart, consider giving financial gift toward a ministry van, sewing project, Bibles and literature, and building projects. Please consider purchasing a tablet with “Biblical study and theology literature” for our trained men for a source of library for ministry preparation. We are targeting 10 pieces. We don’t know the cost or where to source. Your support in this would be truly welcomed.
We are starting to count down days. July 4th, 2019 is coming up soon and we truly long to be away from the cold winters and the weary travels. Despite all that, we trust that God has used our ministry to build you up spiritually and to encourage you to serve the Lord faithfully and effectively.
Pray that we finish strong in the next two months of traveling. We will be in Minnesota, Colorado, and Iowa in March 2019, then Ohio and Iowa in April 2019. Pray for Stephen’s modules in June 2019 at FBBC. Pray for Rena’s mission trip to Utah with Ankeny Baptist church youth in June 2019. Ian and Regina have started well living by themselves at FBBC apartment. Pray for wisdom and diligence in their new phase and responsibilities in life.
We do acknowledge your tireless love for God’s work demonstrated by your hospitality at your church. We have been blessed by the good times together and conversations and meals but most of all in the word of God. We know that some of you can do something in the mission field of Kenya. Please consider coming even for a short-term to train our people in the areas of music, kids, ladies, men, youth, etc. We will be there to assist you accomplish the burden that God has placed in your heart.
The name “Christians” was originally given to the people of God apparently by their enemies (Acts 11:26). Agrippa noted what Paul meant to be a “Christian” (Acts 26:28). Peter argues for “Christian” behavior in times of suffering (1 Peter 4:16). As Christians, let’s stay the course.
In His Care,
Stephen & Edna Muindi
