The Mortensons: September
September 2022
Dear Family and Friends,
Thank you so much for your faithful prayers for us over the past month. What a thrill it is to serve the Lord in teamwork. The ministry here truly is a collaboration of ministries. Through that collaboration, the Lord has opened some amazing doors. In our last prayer update I shared that we would be covering responsibilities in several areas of ministry here because two of our teammate families would be taking short furloughs. But the teamwork is much bigger than just the families that are here full time. For example, our partnership with Medical Missions Outreach enables us to host a general clinic once a year, but we are also able to host surgical teams throughout the year because of the surgical center that they were able to build on the back side of the church property. Last week we received a group of 18 medical volunteers who came down and performed 27 surgeries (like hernia repair and gallbladder removal).
It was a thrill to be able to serve alongside these medical professionals and with several of our church volunteers. The 27 patients were on the local hospital waiting list (some waiting for years). All of the patients were very pleased with the care that they received. In the next few weeks we hope to follow up with each patient in their homes for the purpose of introducing them to the Great Physician. The Lord loves these people and what better way to open the door of the gospel than the visible representation of God’s love through meeting their medical needs. Please be praying for the follow ups, because we desire spiritual fruit. We desire spiritual healing just as much as physical healing.
Thank you again for your partnership with us, may God continue to bless you.
PRAYER REQUESTS
- Continued spiritual growth in the church family.
- For wisdom as we grow in our understanding of Type 1 diabetes, and how to best help Blake.
- Spiritual fruit as a result of the follow up with the surgical patients.
