The Mortensons’ May Update Letter

May 2022

Dear Family and Friends,

Thank you all for your faithful prayers and financial support. God is continuing to show his grace as we have been traveling quite a bit over the last week and a half. We have one more week of travel before heading back to Honduras. This trip to the States had several purposes, the first being to attend a field conference for Central American missionaries hosted by BIMI. That conference started last Monday and was a great blessing. We were encouraged and challenged through the messages and it was also exciting to hear reports from each of the missionaries about what the Lord is doing in the different ministries throughout Central America.
We are now headed back to Pensacola, FL for Blake’s follow up appointment with the endocrinologist. Thank you all for your prayers for us as Blake continues to do well and we all continue to grow in learning how to properly manage his diabetes. One unexpected blessing from this trip has been getting to meet a couple of other families who are walking or have walked the same road with diabetes. God’s goodness and grace are present even in the ups and downs of life with a chronic illness and we want to praise Him.
As I shared last month, we are also squeezing in some time with family before we head home to Honduras and it has been wonderful getting to spend a few days with my parents. While we are back in the Pensacola area, Cori’s parents will come over for a few days and we look forward to that opportunity also. Time is flying but we are thankful for the memories being made with family.
As we get back to Honduras next week we will be jumping back into the ministry there. We will not have a lot of time in-between things but we know that God will supply our need for strength. Thank you again for your faithful prayers for our family.

Prayer & Praise:

  • Continued spiritual growth in the church family.
  • For wisdom as we grow in our understanding of Type 1 diabetes, and how to best help Blake.
  • For traveling mercies while we are in the States.
  • Praise the Lord for a wonderful BIMI field conference.

In Christ,
Nate and Cori, with Mykenzie, Grant, Blake and Savanna
