The Mortensons’ December Letter

December 2021

Dear Family and Friends,

I am sure that we are not the first, but we want to wish you a very Merry Christmas.  The Christmas season is probably Cori’s favorite time of year.  She looks forward to the decorations, the music, and just the general time of focused activities.  Needless to say, our house is already decorated for the Christmas.  We hope that for you as well, this month will be a wonderful time of celebration.  The greatest news of a risen Savior is preceded by the news of His appearance in Bethlehem.  We as Christians have so much to be thankful for, and we have so much to celebrate.

November was a busy month with several activities each week.  Honduras has a different school schedule than the United States and so with the school year ending in November, we ended the church’s Wednesday night kid’s program with an awards ceremony.  The children of our church worked hard all year memorizing Bible verses and the special service we had was so much fun.  Children’s presentations are always very entertaining because of the antics of some of the kids.  But it is also a wonderful representation of the seeds that have been planted in the hearts of each child.  May God use His Word to grow these children into a generation that fears and serves Him.

We also had a great time celebrating Thanksgiving with our teammates here in the ministry.  There are so many reasons to be thankful, such as: for a full and blessed year of ministry, for God’s faithful provision, for your partnership with us in the Gospel, for good health, for God’s continual protection, for the ability to have family visit (Cori’s sister came down for Thanksgiving as well), for peaceful elections here in Honduras, and the spiritual growth we have seen.  God is so good.

Thank you again for your faithful prayers and support.  May the Lord richly bless you this Christmas season.

 PRAYER REQUESTS

  • For the Lord to help us continue to grow in our Spanish speaking abilities and to be better able to minister for Him.
  • For continued spiritual growth in our church family.
  • For wisdom as we continue discipleship with a couple in our church.
  • Praise the Lord for His hand of healing in Cori’s body.  She has been feeling substantial improvement from her asthma.  Thank you for your prayers.

Nate and Cori, with Mykenzie, Grant, Blake and Savanna
