But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
September was our busiest month yet. We continue to make steady progress in raising our monthly support. We were in 12 different churches in the past 3 weeks and had the privilege to present the ministry 6 times. The vision of a vocational school for those going out into the Gospel ministry really seems to be catching on quick. Just last week a single donor committed to fund the rest of the items, totaling $30,000, needed to finish the 50 x 100 school building in Atenas, Costa Rica. Thank you, sir, for being God’s answer to that prayer. Now we should be able to get settled in, finish learning Spanish, and get started on the curriculum instead of finishing the building ourselves. Our monthly support inches up a little more each month. This month 2 more churches and 2 more individuals committed to partner with us financially. We need your prayers more than anything and do appreciate them more than you can know. Two weeks ago a brother bought all of our extra tools and misc. items we could not take with us. What a blessing to not have to list on Craigslist or Marketplace and deal with all that is involved with playing salesman.
Our kids are doing well with a new school year. One of Jon’s teachers incorporates Spanish in the lessons, so he is picking things up pretty quick. Bethany has turned into quite the fisherman. She takes little brother out on the lakes here at the temporary house as much as she can while mom and dad do deputation stuff. She even baits Jon’s hook and takes his fish off. He’s the baby and rotten. Our son Matt got engaged last week to a wonderful young lady he met several years ago at The Wilds in NC. We are thrilled for them. Now to git er dun so we get to Costa Rica and not have to come back for no wedding. HAHA!
We’ve had several opportunities for home missions this month as well. Our home church helped one of our missionaries with a much needed roof project. We were able to help SWAN ministries with a work day getting many projects done at the airplane hangar. We helped a church in Panama City with permitting and associated paperwork for their rebuild after Hurricane Michael. Victory Baptist should be back to 100% by the end of the month thanks to missionary builders from Minnesota. Kevin also spoke at the Men’s Barn Meeting in Laurel Hill, FL., an outreach focusing on unchurched men.
We continue to work with a realtor in Costa Rica on housing. There are several options on the table as we write this letter. Please pray with us that God will give us wisdom so we choose well as we could have to live there for 1-3 years depending on the contract agreement. We continue to be amazed at how God continues to provide through his people and guides us every step of the way. Thank each and every one of you again for your prayer and financial support.
May God richly bless you all.
