.Greetings in the name of our wonderful Lord.
It is with great joy that I can report to you that the Lord has answered our prayers and provided the needed funds for us to purchase the land for our church. After 18 years, we will finally not have to budget for rent! We will start the purchase process on the 21st of December and, Lord willing, we will close no later than the middle of January. Our entire church body is humbled by your response to our need. Your prayers and sacrificial giving are a testimony to God’s desire to see the nations come to Him.
As you likely are as well, New Life Baptist is gearing up for a busy Christmas weekend. The church body will do two community events that will involve Christmas carols, a short message about the reason for Christmas, and of course food. It is especially exciting because two of our laymen will be preaching publicly for the first time. Dtom has been training all of the men in the church about how to prepare a message and lead music in order to have more participation. Christmas day will bring the church body together to worship the Savior. Christmas in Thailand is a very special time as almost all of the church members are the only Christians in their families, so the church gathers together as a family of believers to encourage and enjoy one another. Christmas evening is the annual Christmas party where we anticipate up to 50 guests (almost all unsaved) who will be presented with the gospel and challenged to accept the Lord as Savior. Please pray for these events that many will understand the gospel clearly and see the need for salvation. Also please pray earnestly for Gaan and Gaeng as they preach their first messages on the 23rd and 24th (7 AM on the 23rd and 24th, Eastern Standard Time). Lastly please pray for the title transfer of the land as we will be purchasing it in the name of our foundation, which may present issues since a foreigner (me) is the president.
Frances and I thank you for partnering with us in church planting amongst the Thai people. We pray for you and wish you a very Merry Christmas, and God’s blessing on the coming year.
