Stephen Muindi: December 2017

December 2017

Dear Ministry Partners,

The purpose of God in the incarnation of His only begotten Son is that Christ would give His life “as a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45). In other word, His “blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many” (Mark 14:24), that is, in Christ, God chose us “before the foundation of the world” (Eph. 1:4). The ultimate goal for the first coming of Christ is to redeem humanity from the inevitable wrath of God that is to come upon the ungodly. It is because of God’s ultimate purpose that we are saved and called unto His ministry of proclaiming the good news to all creatures (Mark 16:15).

We thank you all for the much prayers and support over the last five years of ministry in Kenya. Despite many challenges that we face in ministry today in our modern world, “we preach Christ Crucified…the power of God and the wisdom of God” (1 Cor. 1:23-24). As one of your sent-out pastor/missionary on a mission to establish God’s church in another, yet a different society, continent, we look forward for time of fellowship and praise for what God has done during our time away. Please let us know your possible dates that you desire our presence with you. We know that you want to know what is going on there and ask questions and we do too desire to tell you the story, answer your questions, and tell you how you could be involved in both locally and foreign missions. The church in Kenya, Elgon View Baptist Church in Eldoret, is under the leadership of three able men, who have graduated from a Bible Institute under my tutelage for the last five years or more. Please keep on praying for them, namely, Simeon Koech, Michael Otieno, and Silvanus Agisu. They are truly precious to us and the ministry in Kenya.

We did arrive on 1st of November 2017 after a long time of documentation process. We are thankful for your prayers and for the ministry of BMM in making sure that all was in order as we waited for God’s timing. We have been settling down and working on various logistics with family and ministry plans. We praise God for the beautiful home provided us by Urbandale Baptist Church in Iowa. We are thankful to all who made the house ready for us and the wonderful reception we received from both churches; Ankeny and Urbandale Baptist churches respectively.

Please note our current address: 4208 65th Street, Urbandale, IA 50322. You can also call or text on the following cell numbers: (515)777-9312 (Stephen) and (515)777-9352 (Edna). Our email, remains the same.

We praise God for both Edna and I getting Driving Licenses and for Ian and Regina getting their Driving Permits as well. We praise God that we got Rena back to school at Ankeny Christian Academy for this school year as we look forward for Ian and Regina to start their studies at Iowa State University in the Spring. Please pray for them as they adjust themselves to the States life, with school and work schedules, yet remain faithful and active in ministry. We praise God for a purchased Toyota Siena Van for ministry and family use as well as an extra vehicle provided by Gary & Ruth McConeghey from Ankeny Baptist Church.

Having been away for the last five years, our financial support has been affected by increased cost of life, churches with financial constraints, insurance cost, ministry needs, etc. After the review with BMM office, our financial support is at 88%. We will be asking for your support in order to meet the needs. Your monthly support is highly appreciated as well as your one-time gifts towards building projects in the mission field. Please partner with us in this ministry by sending your gift and your commitment with us through Baptist Mid-Missions.

It is our desire that by the proclamation of “…Jesus Christ and Him crucified. … in demonstration of the Spirit and of power…faith might rest in the power of God” (1 Cor. 2:2-5). May God’s goodness and His power be known through you all during the 2017 Christmas ministries. We wish you a blessed Christmas and a prosperous New Year 2018.

In His Care,
Stephen & Edna Muindi
Ian, Regina, Rena
